From the very beginning, our ideas are fragile. Every idea, every creation, isn't made from thin air. Some of our best ideas are born on paper - through creativity, in-depth thought and analysis.
The journey begins when your fragile idea is put through the mill. A mill of how your idea can be implemented, improved and can somehow function in everyday life. Critiques are so important.
You often find that your initial ideas, take a certain path that you (initially) never anticipated. You may have to explain to your clients and to yourself, why and how your idea came to a particular decision or path.
This is a standard industry practise that not only applies to academics.
Personally, sometimes our rustic and complex ideas are just as beautiful and as compelling as our finished article.
