You know, ever since I launched my Gaybook iPhone app in 2013, I have always wanted my very own personal app on the iOS App Store.
Unfortunately, I have no idea about how to code in Objective-C or Swift, but luckily, I've recently gotten to grips with Xcode. One day, I came upon a GitHub page, that allows you to create a simple iOS web application.
All that was required, was to change the icons and launch images, the name of the app and the URL, piece of cake!
Unfortunately, after completing the setup via iTunes Connect and submitting my app, via Xcode, within a couple of days, my app was rejected with the following message:-
"We noticed that your app’s main functionality is to market your service, with limited or no user-facing interactive features or functionality. Apps that are primarily marketing materials or advertisements are not appropriate for the App Store."
It would appear that since 2013 (when my web app for Gaybook was approved), the terms and conditions of app submissions at Apple, have changed and web apps are no longer acceptable, which to some degree, I can understand why. However, for people like me who can't code in Objective-C or Swift, it's preposterous.
